Bugs... somewhat of an obsession

There's just something about insects that I find fascinating. I think it's in their tiny size and the way that they move. Some of my favourite writers seem to have the same fascination:



Playwights Carel and Josef Capek have such a quaint way of presenting humanity.




I think Russian author Viktor Pelevin is one of the great writers of today. For those who like Haruki Murakami, you should definitely give Pelevin a go. I suggest starting with 'The Clay Machine Gun'; it's an absurdist masterpiece.


My obsession has also found its way into my wardrobe:

I accessorise many an outfit with insect jewellery: Alannah Hill headband (worn at my wedding), Karen Walker caterpillar necklace, and an assortment of butterfly and dragonfly brooches, gifts from my lovely husband.

Winter brights

It's so easy to spend the whole of winter in greys, black and navy. So here's a bright orange dress to shake things up a bit. Styled with my winter staple: school tights. I like them in chocolate brown, navy and light grey. I'm far too old to be dressing like a school girl, but I find these tights can look very ladylike. Apologies for the blurry photos. I haven't really mastered outfit posts yet.
