Make My Heart Melt like a Popsicle in Summer

Another new piece from Sretsis "Make My Heart Melt" collection, and another gorgeous print:

All my outfits are made for Spring/ Summer, so I'm going to have to winter-fy it a bit. I'm thinking add brown tights, Mimco flats or brown riding boots, plus navy cardi or Lover M
adeleine coat.

Make My Heart Melt

My new Sretsis pieces finally arrived and they are so special. They are even better than they look in these pictures:

This last one is particularly amazing. I was expecting it to be just a floral print. Turns out there are lions, leopards and unicorns hidden amongst the flora. It's lots of fun to style for Autumn/ Winter too; stay tuned for some outfit pic
s soon.

The print is so cute it makes me wish I also got it in the chiffon version:

Ladylike leather

Leather shorts can be a tricky one... you shouldn't stand too close to a street corner while wearing them. But when worn in the right way I think they can look ladylike rather than tacky. Here's a few outfits based around my black leather shorts by Lover:

Add black tights and flats and simple pearl earrings. Wore this to lunch with the grandmother-in-law and she didn't bat an eyelid.

- bow blouse by Bardot
- green wool sweater by Country Road

Styled for a casual summer lunch.

- Stella McCartney Target bird-print silk tunic
- Karen Walker rope and skull necklace
- Robert Robert cut-out flats

Out to see a band or casual drinks in Autumn, add black tights for winter.

- Kirrily Johnston velvet and chiffon blouse, buttoned to neck

- Mollini heeled brogues

Fickle much?

Alright, so I've changed my wishlist already... tried on the gorgeous turquoise Karen Walker coat and it just didn't suit me. The skirt flared out much more and looked a bit child-like. The colour is even prettier in real life though... Wish it suited me.

So, recently on ebay I sold this Lover coat:

And have now decided I must replace it with this new Lover coat:

I was a bit over the hood and decided this new one is much more sophisticated and the shape sits better on me. It is a lighter weight, which I think suits the shorter sleeves, and the Queensland weather. Although I do now feel that I'm lacking in warmer coats... what next?

Diamonds are a girl's best friend

I never really believed in this saying... until I saw Sretsis' Metamorphosis collection and fell in love with their adorable diamond prints. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a diamond print skirt. The lovely Zooey Deschanel has this in the rainbow print, but I think I like my cream sketch version even better, because of the subtle purple undertones.

Here are some ways that I like to style it: Ladylike elegance with Sretsis Chameleon Ruffle blouse (even better in sunlight when the print on the ruffles turns purple!). Added some studded nude heels.

Bringing out the purple tones with Alice McCall blouse:

Casual with a plain grey singlet from Country Road. Added a hologram necklace, sent to me by Sretsis when I had to return my skirt for the zipper to be fixed.

Here's a detailed pic of the necklace:

Knowing my love for Sretsis, my husband bought me the Diamond Scallop dress for my birthday. The cream print is actually more colourful than it appears from this image.

Here is a close-up (can you see the girl's silhouette merging into the diamond?):

While we're on the topic of diamonds, let's finish with a wedding pic: My engagement ring, my wedding ring and my husband's wedding ring. My engagement ring was picked by both of us in a shop window (pre-proposal). The tall part is white gold with a white diamond. The knife-edge band is yellow gold and has tiny white diamonds lining each side. My wedding band was made to fit neatly next to it and is white gold with yellow diamonds. My husband's ring was his grandfather's, but we got the jeweller to polish it up and insert a small diamond. My bouquet was cream roses.
