Beached as...

Well, here we are on the cusp of another weekend and I still haven't updated on my last one...

My lovely little family packed up and headed for the coast. It was hot. A simple tank and pleated skirt were in order. I opted for the yellow over the blue.

The main event of the weekend was to see American band Beach House as part of the Spunk Tones festival in the Byron Bay hinterland. I wore my new Karen Walker whale print dress. Very beach appropriate.

We stayed at The Summerhouse. It was honestly one of the most lovely places I have ever stayed. It was like staying at a beautiful mansion in the hinterland. It's hard to explain the laid back vibe of the place; there was a communal kitchen and living area, yet it felt like we had the place to ourselves; there was a lovely trust-system where you could keep food and drinks in the fridge and help yourself to herbal tea, coffee and Byron Bay cookies at any time; there was just such an amazing feel to the place.

Plus an amazing view from the pool right down to the ocean, including the iconic Byron lighthouse.

The next day we had lunch at Kirra Surf Club on the way home, and our daughter had her first beach swim! Perfect weather for it:

Talk about a beach babe!

As great as it is to have a getaway, I love the view as we drive back into Brisbane. Feels like home.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

    1. The skirt is Karen Walker, but it's a past seasons one. I got mine from eBay, so if you're lucky maybe one will pop up again there.
