Slowly but surely...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and all of that. I very much enjoyed 2010 and didn't particularly want to let go, but here we are in 2011 so bring it on... I guess. Starting the year with many a chore and refurbishment around the house and hopefully continuing my wardrobe make-over, so feel like I'm actively making a good start to the year to come. Also trying to be good with the eating and exercise, as one does at this time of year.

In case you're intereste
d, I celebrated Christmas in my new Lover dress (see previous post) which was very festive, breezy and allowed me to freely indulge. It also prompted one relative (of the "everyone has one of those relatives that you only have to endure at Christmas" variety) to ask if I were pregnant. Charming. This prompted mild paranoia that I must have grown very fat this year, but I think it's just that I have reached that stage in my life (career: check; house: check; married: check) when people begin to have certain... expectations. Which I'm probably very ready to fulfill in the not so distant future, but am inclined to view that as nobody else's business (husband excepted, of course hehe). But in the meantime I have to endure the comments and sledgehammer-tactful hints and try to make it glaringly obvious that NO, I am not pregnant.

So when going out to see a band the other night I made the following addition to dispel any potential rumours:

Dress: Lover; belt: Karen Walker

I think it looks pretty cute, so don't mind wearing it like that again. Sorry about the poor photo quality.

In the meantime, I'm working my way through my sales wish list, with some little extras along the way. One such purchase was this Sretsis blouse, $50 down from $150. I think it's going to be very versatile. The Mimco headband and shoes were also some bargains picked up in the sales.

Top: Sretsis; headband and shoes: Mimco; Shorts: Kloset; Skirts: Sretsis and Alice McCall

  2. I have that lover dress! but in... cinnamon? It's a pinky colour. Looks cute belted, perhaps I should try that Can't believe that you got asked if you were pregnant though, it's a risk taken when wearing loose fitting clothing I guess huh?

God you always manage to snap up the best sretsis on sale! I've only got one sretsis thing in my closet but love it - I envy your collection :)
